Christmas part 2!

We had a wonderful Christmas. We really enjoyed spending time with family and all great food that came along with it. On Christmas Eve we enjoyed the Feast of the Seven Fishes. We were all so busy with work that we ended up ordering most of the fish from a local fish store. Dave's brother made homeade lobster mac and cheese. That was a big hit! Also, Dave's mom made homeade scallops and tuna in fried dough. I am not much of a seafood lover but did manage to eat 5 out of the 7 fishes! That is an accomplishment compared to last year!

After our yummy dinner, we headed to midnight Mass. It was my first time attending and I have to say that it was a great experience and we will definitely do it again next year. I loved the music and it really made it feel like Christmas.

By the time we got home we crashed! We debated if we wanted to go to our church or not but decided last minute that it would be a good idea to go...so that we did! We first woke up and opened some presents.

We also enjoyed a nice breakfast and each other's company. We talked about all we were grateful for and what a great year we had..but very excited for this year because we have a good feeling about this year!

After church we went over to Dave's parents to open more presents and eat dinner. His mom sure made my day by thinking I was a size 0! HA HA! That got a good laugh. She is sweet though.

We are fortunate to live close to family. We are grateful for all they do and that we know they are always there for us. The holidays wouldn't be the same without them!

We really are excited about this year and have a lot of fun things planned. We keep talking about it and I think we jinxed ourselves because my old car started on fire last night!
Here's to 2012!

Christmas tree!

Over the weekend Dave went with his dad and brother to get our tree. I was a little bummed that I couldn't go but in the end happy I didn't go! They were there for like 5 hours! I would have lost my mind! They went to the same farm we went to for fall. I mentioned to Dave last week that I wanted to cut down our own tree this year..kind of joking about it and he took it seriously! He really did cut down our tree! I couldn't be happier with it! He did such a great job. I made him take the camera not only so I had proof that he cut it himself but also because we are starting our own traditions and want to always remember every special moment in our lives! Here is what he and his brother came up with...

Looks like they had fun! I thought it was really neat that they got to ride the horses out to the trees! I think I will let them do it by themselves next year too!

Can't wait to decorate our tree tonight!
