Grandma comes to visit!

I am so glad that my mom actually made it out here! I was so stressed and worried because of the hurricane.  In fact I was so stressed that I called the airlines a few days before her flight and got them to change it so she would come in one day sooner and before Sandy was actually suppose to hit. Well, lets just say I did not get any sleep because I knew that it would end up being cancelled. My mom called me first thing Sunday morning telling me that it was cancelled. I was heartbroken. I felt terrible. I was the one that talked my mom into coming out the end of October and beginning of November instead of the first part of October. My mom even got special permission to take those 2 weeks off (at her work those are blackout days)...I felt bad for my mom. I felt awful. I thought she would not end up getting out here until the end of the week and then she would only be able to be here for one week and that she would have wasted her vacation days.
We called Delta and were on hold (waited for a call back) for 8 hours! They finally called us and told us that they had already scheduled her on the next available flight which was early Tuesday morning!!!! I was so happy and was grateful that that flight wasn't canceled!
It was so fun having her here and we were for sure sad to see her leave. She was such a huge help to me. She helped me a ton and taught me all the tricks of being a mom of a baby.

It was the cutest thing watching my mom hold Dri for the first time.

My mom would watch Dri so I could go to the gym and was able to run a few errands. She really took over.
Dri loved every minute of it (except towards the end..she became very clingy to me)

I had a bad cold and was super congested for over a month and then the 2nd day my mom was here my eyes were super pink and she talked me into going to the dr...good thing because I had pink eye in both eyes (then a couple weeks later had bronchitis and pneumonia and sad my mom wasn't here to help me). It was nice to have her here while I was a little under the weather. Even though I am a mommy now it is always nice to have your mom there for you when you are sick. She woke up in the middle of the night to look at my eyes and would put the eye drops in for me.

Audriana was blessed while my mom was here...

My mom is the one that got Dri's blessing dress so it was awesome to have her here for her special day.

Audriana turned 2 months

Which meant she got her 2 month shots... Dave was going to be out of town while my mom was here and then still be away when she left. I started work the week she left and I didn't want to be stuck with a cranky baby by myself so my mom told me schedule her shots while she was here. So that I did. It was definitely a good idea. Dri was so miserable. She zonked out in my moms arms as soon as we got home!

Her little hand was too cute. I felt so bad for her. As a result of her shots my mom and I didn't do and get quite as much as we had hoped to accomplished. That's ok though! She did kind of teach me how to use my sewing machine and that was important to her and me! She keeps telling me ..now that I have a girl I need to sew more and make her things.

My mom was absolutely obsessed with the tomato pie! We ate a lot (more her and Dave than me, because I can't really eat tomatoes because Dri doesn't like them)

The day before grandma left! Isn't this the cutest picture!?!?!

Grandma saying bye!
I lam so glad my mom came out. I have to say how much I love my mom. I think now that I am a mom, I understand the love she has for me now a lot more! She has been so helpful to me. My entire pregnancy she helped me and would listen to me and let me complain and be grumpy to her. She would answer my phone calls no matter what time of day. She has continued to do this since I had Dri.  Moms really do know whats best!

Can't wait for her to come back in the spring!
