Visiting Grandpa (my dad) in Utah...

When we found out how sick my dad was we were initially going to wait to go visit but after talking with some very dear people (the Hansen's) we decided it was right for me to go out sooner than later.
I am glad we did because my dad has now been diagnosed with stage 4 lymphoma (the worst), a lung infection and meylo fibrosis. He seems to be pretty out of it and loopy at this point...(More on that later).
We got out there on a Sunday afternoon...of course I made my sister stop at Del Taco and Walkers. We then went to my parents house and met up with some cousins that happened to be there the same weekend (their grandpa died)..oh and I look extra tired and so does Dri.

We then had family dinner and then we all went to see my dad. HE is now in a rehab..so we headed down to the rehab.
I expected my dad to be much worst than what he was but he seemed pretty good. HE was still cracking jokes and making us laugh.
We got home so late and lets just say Dri's schedule got WAY messed up while we were there but ended up working out for the better in the end because a later bedtime works better with our schedules...(when I say later I mean like 9 pm )
The next day we just hung out and did some stuff with my dad. We waited to find out what exactly was wrong with my dad and were waiting forever for the dr to call us and let us know what time his appt was going to be on tues.
So, Tues we went to the dr. It was by far the longest appt I have ever been to! WE were there like in the room for almost 3 hours! I personally was not a fan of Dr. Bryer. I did not like the way she talked to my mom. She told us my dad had MAYBE 8 weeks to live due to his platelets. She diagnosed him with meylofibrosis.  When we asked her if it was lymphoma she said NO..but very rudely told us now. Then a week later she was calling my mom back and saying they wanted to see them again and that my dad indeed does have lymphoma. So, weird!
ANyway, we ended up going to the funeral home and trying to figure everything out so my mom is not stuck with it when my dad does pass. It is very stressful and time consuming.
I was able to snap some pics with my dad and us kids and grandkids. I really wish all us kids could have been there together so we could have gotten a family pic but oh well.

My moms face is priceless!

When they went to the dr this week, Dr Breyer said my dad also has a lung infection and was too weak to do chemo so they were going to do an infusion until he got strong enough. Well, during the treatment my dad started shutting down. They couldn't finish the treatment. They kept apologizing to my mom and said that he would only last a few days. He is still going strong though. They put him on hospice and can no longer give him platelets or transfusions. He will stay in the rehab until he passes.
This all came on so fast. It has been such a shock. I really hope my dad can go in peace and comfort.
It was good for me to go out there and see my family. I feel like it brought peace to my life.
It was good for Audriana to meet her grandpa and some cousins and Aunt Lisa.
