Goodbye Dad..

My dad passed away on Friday, March 29, 2013.

He had stage 4 lymphoma and he couldn't hold his platelets. His body was to weak to do treatment. They said if he had chosen to do chemo he would have probably died on the spot. They put him on hospice. They said if he were to fall and hit his head he would most likely bleed out and die.

Well, he fell early friday morning. He hit his head. They were right. This was a blessing. We had been praying that he would go sooner than later because he was so miserable and unhappy. He basically went into a coma    soon after the fall. He had been on oxygen for about a month..and my mom was going to take him off the oxygen because even with the help of the oxygen he was going about 30 sec between breaths...well there was no need to. My sister danielle said goodbye to him and told him that everything was going to be ok here and my mom would be taken care of. He died shortly thereafter.

His funeral was the following friday. Me and dave flew out there on thursday. it was really great to see my family and my siblings..although not for a good reason. 

I was asked to give my dads life sketch..i will post on that later. It overall was a nice service and my dad will be missed.

I find myself often wondering what he is doing in heaven. is he making people laugh? is he telling his stupid jokes? is he taking a nap? i am sure he is just fine. it is so weird to me because I have never had anyone close  to me die before so I have literally thought a lot about it. 

I am grateful we were able to say goodbye to him.

Dad you will be missed!
