A REAL SNOWFALL!

After being teased with teeny tiny little snowfalls over the last month we finally got a REAL snowstorm - 17 inches to be exact. I should be a little more excited than I am about the snow..living in Utah for 12 years and all but I just can't bring myself to LOVING IT...but all in all it is kind of pretty to look at and we only had to work a 1/2 day yesterday and again today! So THANK YOU snow, thank you! Here are a few pics we took from the back of our deck!!

Let's hope this is the last snow fall of the winter - let's be honest...Dave doesn't really like to shovel us out of the driveway!

"ME" TIME

This year Dave will be traveling once a month for his job...at first I was a little sad about this and totally bummed.  Then, I started thinking about it and realized that is was actually going to be a good thing...you see, when Dave is around it is a bit challenging to get things done and have time to relax...he likes to GO GO GO and shop til ya drop. I have become quite the homeody since we have been married and LOVE being home..so now I look forward to his business trips and I even get to join him on a few! So, here are some of the things I get to enjoy doing while he is gone....

Studying...I have to take the state boards to be a  licensed cosmetologist in PA even though I have been one for 7 years in Utah.

Baking brownies, so I can eat them while I study!!

I can workout for however long I want with no interruptions! I get to burn off the brownies at the same time!

I can play the piano and sing ( I sing horribly) whatever and however loud I feel like it!!! I love it! We just added this new addition to our home 1 month ago and I don't get to enjoy it enough!

Don't tell Dave, but I think I'll do some shopping by myself and I may just get my nails and eyebrows done too!

Even though I like having quality "me" time, I still miss my man! BTW- I thought this was funny..he is gone for 4 days and checked 3 bags! Love him!

DC TEMPLE LIGHTS

Dave and I were so excited to go see the DC Temple lights.  It was the first time both of us went to the DC Temple around Christmas, and it was the most perfect day. It started off with us doing sealings in the temple.  This was special for us because we were able to be reminded of our own sealing day that was just a few months ago. As we finished and walked out of the temple the lights were simply breathtaking.....

We had originally planned on going one week later than we did, but with conflicts we changed our plans literally the Thursday before. Saturday morning I woke up at 6: (I'm a kid and don't sleep in) and randomly got on Facebook.  I noticed that my sister was flying into DC and going to be there for the weekend. This sister is my dad's daughter from a previous marriage and I never knew she existsted until I was 15. I had only seen her once in my life.  I quickly messaged her hopeful that she would somehow see it and respond and call me so we could met up with her for dinner after the temple... she soon called me and we made arrangements to ge together.  It was such a cool day.  We are grateful for our testimonies and for unexpected blessings!
