How COOL is this...

We went to Lancaster, PA, on Saturday.  It is full of antique shops, Amish people, and interesting food. Whle we were driving around, I saw Labadie Looms out of the corner of my eye.  This is cool because my maiden name is Labadie.  There are not many Labadies around...so I was so excited and walked into the antique shop and talked to the owner.  I found out that I am related to the first owner.  His name is Jean De Labadie, he came from France and was the leader of a group called the Labadists. I thought it was pretty awesome!  What a small world!

Birthday Fun! (Don't even think about asking my age)

I was lucky enough to have my birthday fall on a Friday this year. I didn't have to work on Friday..so we went to breakfast (Dave worked from home..well kind of),  I went and got a massage, and my eyebrows done..( I am too lazy to use tweezers and would much rather sit in a chair and get them done for me), spent some time with my hubby, who by the way was out of town all last week so it was extra fun, went to dinner with family, and ate lots of cake!

I opened a few presents before we went to dinner. I was really excited about this puzzle. I drink 1/2 coke 1/2 diet everyday and we have been wanting to get a puzzle for awhile now..so this was perfect.

After opening a few things we met Dave's parents at Mirna's , a Mediterranean restaurant.  We went their last year for my birthday and loved it. I highly recommend it.

As you can see..there portions are HUGE..so we took some home!

even though most of the talk was about Dave going to China in a month for work..

After dinner we went to Dave's parents for cake!
We sorta have this thing for ice cream cake and my M.I.L ( mother-in- law) makes a wonderful cake..so we had two!

It is great living 5 minutes away from family. I am so grateful for Dave's parents and all they do for us.

I kinda have this thing for 24 and Jack Bauer..so this card was awesome!

I have never been a big fan of my birthday. I am lucky to have Dave and his family to help me become more of a fan. They really made my day!

The story of us...

Two years ago this handsome man showed up on my doorstep...

I was trying to ditch him for a couple months because I knew he was interested in me...

...and I was not interested in him.

I was surprised...

I thought he looked good, and suddenly became interested.

He gave me a birthday present.

I asked him out...

He said no..

He asked me out..

I said yes.

We went on a romantic first date.

I was suddenly very interested.

We dated.

I liked him.

He liked me.

Then..

we broke up.

I was sad.

Really sad.

So was he.

We tried again...

and

fell madly in love

He proposed.

 I, of course said yes.

So, we got married.

We love each other.

I am glad he came to my doorstep three years ago today.

Addicted.

Dave introduced me to tomato pie. I never knew this stuff even existed.  For those of you who have no clue what tomato pie is..it is like a thick pizza crust with yummy creamy tomato sauce on top.  It is absolutely delicious. Of course we go to the local Italian bakery (Dave's family has gone there forever)..so I have only had it from there..so if you try it from somewhere else and it's not good you can't blame me!

We have made it a weekend addiction.  Saturday morning we join the crowd at Corrpolese and don't know what our Saturdays would be without it!

Missing Utah Friends.

 

I really really miss my Utah friends today. 

I don't like that they live so far away.

I am grateful that I can call them anytime, and they will always listen to what I have to say. 

The good news is..I will see them again...yay!

My Mission.

I miss my mission. I miss it a lot. I returned home three years ago tomorrow..I know I am a geek for even knowing that.

I had some great experiences there and learned so much. I will forever be grateful.





I loved the people I served, the friendships I made, the language, the fruit and everything else! I loved my mission.
