This is how we survive the heat...

By going to the BEACH!!!

Dave and I have been wanting to soak up the sun for a long time now..it has been so hot here! It was the perfect weekend trip. We seriously had such a blast. It made me sad to come home!

We left early in the morning...6 AM! I was very shocked that we actually did! We got there around 8 and ate at my favorite breakfast place...The Greenman. We tried to go there in March but they were not open yet for the season. I had a green juice and quiche and Dave had a smoothie and french toast! It was the perfect way to start our day!

After breakfast we headed to the beach! We were very prepared and brought a cooler with lots of water and food. We also of course bought a beach chair! The sand was soooo hot it literally was burning our feet. The ocean was perfect! I think I swam for most of the time! Every time I got out of the water I just wanted to get back in! It was too much fun!!!

I put so much sunblock on and still got burned! I thought this tan (burn) line was funny! I am thinking it happened when Dave applied the sunblock to my arm..it fit his fingers perfectly.

Later that night we went mini golofing. Dave and I have only gone once since we have known each other so it was fun to go together.

The course was so awesome!!! I have to say that I WON! I was pretty proud of myself!

The next morning was a little rainy so we didn't get out as early as we had hoped.  When we did we went on a walk and run around the boardwalk and explored some new things that we are excited about for next time we go!

We went shopping (Delaware is tax free!!!)...hung out and explored some more! We were planning on leaving around 6 but didn't leave til 8ish to come home! The drive back was gorgeous!

I mean seriously...look at that sunset!

Our trip wouldn't be complete without a stop for ice cream. We stopped at diary queen..I ordered a small and Dave ordered a large. I knew his was going to be HUGE and I warned him but he was determined that he wanted the large. It was hilarious to see his face when it came out! People were commenting on the size. I wish I had taken a picture of both or our cones before we ate most of them...this is the best I got!

As much as I like taking trips and going on vacation, I always love coming home! There is something about being in my own bed and taking a shower in my shower that is so refreshing and comfortable for me.

 

Now, we are back to reality, surviving our hectic week and trying to stay cool!
