We finished the....

NURSERY!!!
We were excited to do the nursery long before I was pregnant. We knew we wanted to do torquoise and orange..well as soon as we found out we were having a girl we of course added pink to the mix!

I seriously wish we had a before and after picture...we have 3 bedrooms and this was the guest bedroom and the landlord had it such a dark dark blue color. It made the room look so small and dark and very closed. I was more than thrilled to get rid of it!

It was so cute because Dave's dad (pop pop) is seriously obsessed with the baby. He was set on painting the room...he wants me to remind the baby of this everytime we are rocking her. :) So pop pop is the one that painted, helped set up all the furniture, and hung everything! He will for sure be loved..and already is!

I made the pom poms and even ironed the tissue paper before making them..that is how anal and weird I am! :) We did not really want to spend a lot on the crib skirt and quilt (my mom is making the quilt)..I was thinking of sewing one myself but lets be honest...I DON'T SEW! I kindly asked my mom to do it and she just did it all on her own and picked out the fabric and everything. I think she did a pretty good job at matching it up considering she is on the other side of the country! I was proud of her!

My boss gave me a ton of leftover crates and I decided to paint them! It was so much fun. I still have more left! I used 2 for books and storage and then the others for diaper stuff! My awesome husband picked out the pillow and the owl picture. He was really into decorating and had to have a say in everything! Let me tell you--it was annoying at times..I think we bought 3 rugs in total..laid them all out and then he decided! He is more anal than I am!!!

Dave also picked out those cute knobs...they are from Anthro and guess what? they were like 1 buck a piece!...ON SALE! You know what else was on sale? The dresser..oh and that lamp! We rock at getting good deals!

The nursery was so much fun to create. We are fully aware that she will not even be in there until she is around 4-5 months or for an occasional nap. OH well! We worked really hard on it.  I was not at all sad to see the "guest" bedroom be combined with the office!

Now that the nursery is finished and all her clothes are washed and organized what else am I going to do to pass the time??? I keep making up to-do lists but seriously I am almost out of ideas! Well, I do need to finish my thank-you cards!

  1. So cute! Who knows she may be in there sooner then you think. Lukas was in his room by one month. I have a hard time sleeping with the baby right next to me every little noise they made woke me up.

  2. Love it!! I think you are super smart to finish the nursery before baby A arrives. I did the same thing and I would just sit in the rocking chair and relax and now that shes here she naps in her crib and at night I feed her in her room. Its wonderful, way to go girl!
