More Of Our Beach Day...

Living in the Philadelphia area leaves a few options for different beaches...I guess I should say..shores.
We have the Jersey shore about an hour away...and we have Rehoboth which is about 2 hours away.
We love Rehoboth, so we go the extra!

It is such a beautiful and clean beach. It is a small and quaint town. It has lots of  cute little boutiques and shops....I am still thinking about them!

We wanted to rent bikes but I was being "moody" so instead we walked around town.
It was actually a load of fun.

Just so you know..I looked like a massive dork because my stupid foot was hurting so badly from wearing flip flops instead of my sneakers with orthotics..I had to put my sneakers on! Really.who does that? Who wears sneakers...at the beach... with a swimsuit?

I am so stylish!

We left Rehoboth sad to leave but excited to return! We are so grateful that we live so close...especially on hot and humid days! I am seriously hoping it cools down soon!

A Brunch Kind Of Day

I always love Memorial Day weekend.  I know it is a time to honor the veterans but we all know that it also means a time to have fun!  Fun is what we had. We had a packed weekend....between going down to the shore and celebrating the marriage of some of our friends we went to three different states! Welcome to the East coast!
We started off by going down to Rehoboth Beach early Friday morning. The first thing we did when we got there was of course eat! We had the BEST brunch in the world!

This is where we ate:

Green Man is an organic Juice Bar and Bistro. Dave and I were so hungry that we wanted everything on the menu and couldn't make our minds up!

This is Dave trying to decide what he wanted! It all looked tasty!

Glad we finally did and I am pretty darn certain we choose wisely!

Dave had this huge French toast! I think it was a full loaf of bread!

I had an egg sandwich with avacado. It was good..but so big (ok not as big as the French toast) I couldn't finish it!

More of our day at the shore to come... along with the rest of our wonderful weekend! I am not going to lie..I am exhausted! Hope you all had a great Memorial Day!

I Think I Might Be Physic

When Dave was in China I had a weird dream. I always have weird dreams....but seriously I think I am physic. I dreamt that we were living in the south and caught in a massive tornado. We saw it behind us and we ran so fast. Some random family let us share their storm shelter wih them. It really felt like we wre there. It was so loud, people were screaming, and it was dark. I was scared. The ony thing that made it ok was the fact that I was with Dave.

When I woke up the next morning, I was all worried. I thought maybe I dreamt it because Dave was gone and when he is away my dreams are always weird.

While I was getting ready for work, I had the news on...that is when I discovered the catastrophic tornado in Alabama.  Isn't that weird?  I thought maybe it was just a fluke....

But...last week while Dave was away again...I had another tornado dream.  This time we were in some open field and pushing a stroller. We ran and ran searching for shelter. We found it just in time.  It was some random barn. We were happy to be safe.

Well, that same day there was a small tornado in Philadelphia. A few days later, another one in Joplin, MO

My heart breaks for all those people. I feel horrible for them. To loose all your belongings and even loved ones in just a few minutes time, is one of the saddest things I have ever seen.  The entire city is  destroyed. It will take forever to rebuild it, and so much money! It is so sad. I can't stop thinking about it.

I have been thinking for awhile now that we need to make some 72 hr kits...we have just never gotten around to it. All these tragedies have made me want to make them ASAP!  I think it is important to keep them in a safe place and close by all the time.

I am really starting to think I am physic!..I hope not though because some of my dreams are freaky!

Dave and I thought a lot about moving to the south but I think after all this we are NEVER leaving here. I mean we don't have hurricanes, earthquakes, fires, tornadoes (minus the one small one)...so basically a litte or a lot of rain every once in awhile is fine with me...and I will even take the humidity!

Best Breakfast

I saw this yumminess on the inernet and decided to try it out for myself.

I love it.  It is so easy to make. All you do is grab a handful of blueberries, one banana, some spinach( I like a lot), about a cup of almond milk and mix it in your blender and....

Green Smoothie!

We always have fresh fruit in the house, so I think I am going to try different mixtues. Also, we just switched to almond milk. I have always been a soy milk girl...my sister started with almond milk a few months ago and we decided to do the switch about a month ago. We love it. It is seriously delicious.

I am hoping I can get Dave to try the green smoothie!

Do you have any other good, healthy and green smoothie recipes that you like?
Please share!

Getting Used To Being Without A Husband.

I woke up the other day, and saw this cute note my hubby left me.
He left at like 5 am and didn't want to wake me to say bye ( I was freaking out when I woke up ) so he wrote this. I thought it was so cute and it made my day!

So, while I have being enjoying the rainy weather here in PA.....
He is enjoying the sun in..

Before we got married, Dave rarely went on bussiness trips. Maybe it is a good thing - I mean he has no  one nagging him about his heavy breathing, he doesn't have to carry me to bed every night, free meals (and good ones), and hello he gets to enjoy the sun and meet cool people like Wayne Brady.
Who wouldn't want to do that?

Well, I am excited to see him tomorrow morning..
even if I get to pick him up from the airport at 6 am on a Saturday morning.

Guess what? His next trip is in July! I get him for 1 1/2 months!

I hope today flies by!

Our First BBQ

We were excited about our first BBQ..even though it was nothing special.  We had some friends over and did the famous hot dogs and hamburgers!  We also had corn on the cob, salad, pickles (my favorite) and of course chips!
Dave was the chef and also the one who took the pictures...I think he forgot to take pictures of us! Oops!

The hamburgers were a little small - so we now know for next time! Overall we had a great night and are excited for more BBQs to come.

New Addiction

Peanut Butter and Carrots!
I seriously love it.  My sister told me about this delicious snack back in February..I finally got the courage in March to try it.  I am now hooked. I seriously eat it everday as part of my lunch.  It may sound a little weird but it is such a yummy mixture!
Of course celery is also great - I like to peel off a layer of the celery and it makes it a lot better tasting!
I hope you all try it!

Park City

About a year ago me and Dave set out to Utah.  We went there so Dave could meet my parents, a few of my siblings, and ask my dad if he could marry me.  We did things differently and stayed in Park City with my sister and her family who were also visiting but from Tennessee. It was so much fun. We did some hiking in Pleasant Grove, which is where I lived for 10 years. I would hike up to this waterfall frequently as a teenager, so it was a lot of fun for me to take Dave there. It was absolutely gorgeous!

We were also able to visit where my grandfather was born...which happen to be in Pleasant Grove.

This is the barn outside my grandfather's house - yes, he was a farmer!

Our trip was of course not complete without real Mexican food!
I'm pretty sure we ate it everday we were there!

We had a great time! Glad my dad gave permission to Dave..well kinda..he said that he was on Dave's team - whatever that is suppose to mean!

We are looking forward to our trip to Utah in September.

Scenes From The Weekend...

We had a weekend filled with haircuts, shopping, barbecuing, more shopping, working out, hanging out with family, eating and lastly Valley Forge Park.
It was such a gorgeous day yesterday so we decided to take advatage of it and go for a Sunday walk. We were very excited to get out and get some long overdue fresh air! It was a great opportunity for us to use our new camera...although we have not read the manual..so we winged it!
Here are some pictures of our walk!

We are so lucky to live close to such a beautiful place. We live near many gorgeous trails. Since I can't run anymore, we are getting some bikes in a few weeks. I am excited because this means that we get to hit up all the trails I once ran on!
For now, we will enjoy the outdoors on foot...before it gets too humid to breathe!
Hope you all had a great weekend and treated your mothers well!

Girls Night Out

Dave traveling so much always gives a good opportunity to spend a little time with the girls!  Even though I miss him, getting out and having "girl" time is great. We get to chat about whatever we want, eat as much ice cream as we would like and not care!
We of course went to Zhwalen's!

Thanks girls for a fun and much needed night out!
