Obsessed

Dave and I are currently obsessed with the new T.V. show The Voice. We love Dia Frampton and hoping that she wins!
She is the only one on there that is a true musical artist. She writes her own music and can play lots of instruments.
Watch it tonight and vote for her!

A Colorful Surprise

I am so lucky to be the youngest of six.
I have been an aunt since the age of eight.
My nieces and nephews mean the world to me and I love them so so much.
My cute, okay like totally adorable niece, Elyse sent me this cute picture in the mail the other day!
It totally made my day...it was so unexpected and to go to the mailbox and see an envelope addressed to "Aunt Nanette Vagnoni" was just too cute.

I am so grateful for technology these days and the wonderful opportunity to skype with my family and of course Dave when he goes away on work-trips.

Anyway, this cute thing just made my day and I just love her to pieces!

Motab Comes To Philly

The past couple of weeks are like a blur to me. We have been so seriously busy that I lost track of the days of the week!

I am glad that stretch is over!

The Mormon Tabernacle Choir came to town last week and we were so excited to go!
We were not really planning on it because of all we had going on..but a very kind friend had 4 extra tickets and gave them to us ..so we went!

It was a great feeling to be able to sit there peacefully and not focus on anything else but the beautiful music.
We had a fabulous time!

Take Me Out To The ...

Reading Phillies game!

Going to the Reading Phillies game was totally different than actually going to see the PHILADELPHIA PHILIES play... and a lot cheaper...(we love our team though)
but, it was so much fun.
They did all kinds of cool things throughout the night.
They did a raffle and gave away 3 cars...they were all pieces of crap! That was the fun of it ..it was called..pimp your ride. That was entertaining and a part of me wanted to win! ha ha

The best part was the firework show at the end of the game! That was awesome..they were really cool fireworks!

Dave and I are going through this stretch were we are so busy and not getting enough sleep..so we have been forgetting to have fun. It was a great date night and good to get out of the house and take our minds off the things that are stressing us out!

DUH...I forgot to mention that they won!

My husband is becoming a housewife.

This is probably going to be cheesy but oh well!

I have been so stressed out lately with work, and getting ready to take my test. I have been busy non-stop.
I have been having major anxiety and waking up at like 4:30 every morning just thinking about all I need to do and accomplish..but then I can't get the motivation to do anything!
It is a really bad combo!
I also started a new job and still doing the nanny thing. I am working on the weekends which leaves me no time to clean, cook, do the laundry or grocery shopping.
It is times like this that make me remember why I married Dave.
He has been so kind to me and so helpful.

I came home on Saturday to find the house cleaned, grocery shopping done (and he got some really good things, laundry cleaned and put away, and dinner on the table. How sweet is that?
This did not just happen one day..it also happened last weekend!

Dave rubs my feet every night, tickles my back until I fall asleep and did I mention that he also carries me to bed?
I have realized since I have been married that men really do need women and women really do need men. I never thought this before. I was so independent and used to doing everything on my own since a very young age that I just never knew any different.

Men need women to remind them that they need to brush their teeth, and make them food and help them look good. They need us to help them to be more understanding, more sensitive and caring. Sometimes men just don't get it.

Us women need men to help us in a lot of ways. We need them to help us accomplish our goals, be more humble and of course help us not to gossip ( or just listen to us gossip to them )...
They are handy and can take care of stuff around the house or fix the car.

I am grateful to have my husband. I am grateful for all the little things he does for me. He makes me want to be a better person. He is so sweet and caring.
It has meant the world to me how he has stepped up and really done a wonderful job and taking care of our house and being there when I have needed him the most.

I also think it is so nice that he comes to my work and eats lunch with me in the car. He spies on me too! It is kinda creepy but romantic at the same time.

Ok..I am done yacking about Dave and being cheesy. I just want to remember this moment in 30 years from now when I may think he has never helped! LOL

Good news is..I am taking my test in a week so things should get better..and no more energy drinks!

Can you believe our one year wedding anniversary is in a couple of months already!

Our engagement story...one year later!

I was so anxious for this day...
I knew it was coming and you see, I hate surprises. I like to know absolutely everything..I think it is the A.D.H.D. in me.
My husband is the opposite. He likes to surprise me with everything.
Well...now I guess all of the surprises and ruin it. I should like them by now but I don't...
I didn't like surprises back then either..back then as in when Dave asked me to be his forever...

I met his parents and he met mine. He even asked my dad if he could marry me.
The only thing missing was the ring shopping.
I was never one to really care about my wedding or anything to do with weddings. My dream ring was..well I didn't really have one but I did like pearls.
That was not going to cut it with Dave. He is all about going above and beyond...
This is when we started ring shopping together.

We went everywhere. We looked and looked.  We went "looking" at least 3-4 times a week. I guess I was more interested in the ring than I thought I was. We were ready to just chuck it when unexpectedly one Saturday I fell in love with 2.
I told Dave to decide and surprise me (we know I hate surprises and I really liked one more than the other) ...he said no way..you pick one now!
I of course did!
It was a designer setting so t had to be custom made and ordered to fit me..so in the meantime he bought a pearl ring.
He actually bought it while I was with him! Duh! This made the waiting even more difficult!

I was so obnoxious! I kept asking Dave when he was going to pop the question! I would say things like...today won't be a good day for you to ask me or this is not romantic enough to ask me...
Of course this made Dave even more nervous and me more anxious!

On Sunday, June 13 Dave finally asked!
I went to my ward and he went to his.
I met him at his place for dinner.
After we ate he gave me a card and told me not to open it for 15 minutes.
He left and said he would see me soon. I knew it was happening. I was freaked out..I was in my pjs with no makeup and greasy hair! I was not looking so hot!
I opened it as soon as he left. It was a love note with a clue on it that led me to the next note....and the next and next and the next.
He was making me go all over creation. I went to different places that meant something to us and found love note after love note.
The last one led me to...oh you know who!
Dave!

He looked so cute. I met him on a trail that was behind his house and that we always went running on together.
He told me that we can't see the entire trail and don't know if it is hilly or what but we can run it together.
Just like our life together...we don't know what is in store for us and can't see but know that we can do anything together.
He continued to say some more lovey dovey and sappy things to me..
Then of course he asked me to be his forever!
I of course said NO! ..I reallly did but then said I was kidding and yes!

I am so lucky to have Dave in my life. He is so sweet to me. He rubs my feet at night, tickles my back until I fall asleep, makes me dinner, cleans the house, does the laundry, goes grocery shopping, and most importantly treats me like a princess.
I sound like such a lazy wife! I do things too..I promise!

He has changed my life forever and I couldn't be more grateful!

We had our friend Michelle Leighton do our engagements. Check out her blog!
We had them done in downtown Philadelphia at Boathouse row near the art museum!
Here are some of our favs!

Sometimes We Get Together With Friends And Drink....

Kava...that is.

Some of our friends have people over every Friday to hang out, play games, and drink this Hawaiin drink called Kava.  We had been wanting to go for awhile now but never really had a chance...ya know with our busy schedules and all..
It has a weird taste..kinda like dirt but you get used to it. It also helped us to have a wonderful nights sleep.
Here are some pictures!

hanging out and playing cards...
this is the Kava..
I was so tired and cold and yes I am wearing a snuggie!

We hope to do this again soon!

Going Back To Brasil....Philly Style!

In Northeast Philadelphia there is like one street that is basically a Brasilian street. It has a bunch of places to eat, supermarkets and shops. It is basically like being in Brasil.

I have a friend who is half Brasilian and another friend who lived in Brasil for 10 yrs...so I invited them to come along. We had so much fun and also it was kind of sad because it just made us miss Brasil even more!

We ate way too much and bought a lot of good food to bring home. It was fun because I bought some food that I ate everyday on my mission and had Dave try it! Not sure he liked it!

I wish I had taken more pictures but we were too busy having fun!
Can't wait to go back!

Our 5 Fav Things On Friday...

Here are some of our favorite things as of late...

1.

We are obsessed with 24 Dave got me hooked on 24 during the last season. He has always been a 24 kind of guy and I never was interested. Finally one Monday night when there was nothing else to do, I caved and been obsessed ever since. Dave is just nice enough to buy all the seasons (he has already seen most of them) and watch episode after episode with me. I don't know what  I am going to do when I am finished! I can't wait for the movie to come out!

2.
Rita's water ice! There is nothing better on a hot and humid day than water ice! It is so refreshing and they have so many flavors. What did I do without Rita's when I lived in Utah? I am finding that they are becoming popular and not just a PA thing anymore..Texas now has a few and so do more places along the East coast.

3.
Hello! I can't live without Wawa!   I love 1/2 coke 1/2 diet...but it has to be from here. I am hooked.  It is really sad that I am friends with the workers.  I told them yesterday that I plan on stopping this addiction soon. They said they will be sad...so will I! I have got to stop!

4.
We LOVE this place!  I think we go there like once a week. I found the cutest canisters there last Friday while we were in Rehoboth...we didn' get them because we thought they would have them near us...we were wrong! We went to three different locations on Monday searching for them. No luck! Oh well! We may have to go back to Delaware! We find some really cool things here and always get stuff on clearance!

5.
Going to the GYM!  I swim while Dave runs! It is great. I actually really like swimming now and have become friends with the other swimmers. I don't feel stupid anymore with a swim cap on! Dave makes me jealous with all the running he does. We actually ran 5 miles together on Monday..I am not allowed to so don't tell!

Hope you all have a great weekend!

Wedding Crashers

We were able to celebrate the marriage of Dave's co-worker on Sunday.  This wedding was unique for us because they are Jewish.  It was very cool!

Since Dave and I have been together we have been able to attend all kinds of fun weddings...Catholic, Mormon and now Jewish!
Congrats C.J. and Barrie!
